[SNAG-View] Tipp of the Month – Nagstamon
Nagstamon is a status monitor for the desktop and with version 2.1-20170811 it also supports SNAG-View 3.6.3 and higher now!

Connection to SNAG-View 3 Server
The first time Nagstamon is launched, the user is offered to connect a new server.
To add the SNAG-View 3 server select "SNAG-View 3" from the "Monitor type" drop-down menu.
Subsequently you must then specify an arbitrary name and the corresponding address of the server:
Afterwards, the registration data can be entered and, if necessary, a proxy can be set up.
You can registrate with your normal account data. To use an LDAP user for logon,
ldap: must be written before the respective username:
For example, the SSL / TLS certificate can be ignored or the authentication type can be set.
After adding the server, Nagstamon can display as floating statusbar, systray icon or fullscreen:
By clicking the systray icon or statusbar a window opens, showing you useful information about the affected host or service.
In the Nagstamon settings, multiple servers can be added simultaneously.
Under the "Actions" tab, the user can add his / her own commands, which he can then apply to the displayed objects. These include, for example, RDP, SSH or Telnet.
By clicking on the "Filters" button, all displayed objects can be sorted out via the settings according to different criteria and regex filters.
The user can be informed about failures or critical states in various ways.
The status bar or the icon can light up, there may be desktop notifications or even beeps. You can also set your own tones here.
With a right-click several actions for the object can be performed:
- The user-customized actions
- Open the object directly in SNAG-View 3
- Perform a Recheck
- Alternatively click "Recheck all" to recheck every object shown
- Set an acknowledgement
- Submit a passive check result
